Dear Bob,

It was very sad to hear about Hazel’s death, Sue phoned me earlier today. You have all had a difficult time over the last few years. I have always had a high regards for Hazel, she was always fun to be with yet had a serious side to her. You are privileged to have known her and Josh and Zoë are fortunate to have had her as a mum.

I suppose the next stage is as hard as the last, learning to live without her. My thoughts will be with you all, I can imagine how hard it will be particularly as I am now a dad of two (one of them is also a Zoë!).

Don’t bother to reply to this, you’ll have enough on your hands. I just wanted to say how sorry I was to here the news. If you ever come to Perth please give me a call.
