Dear Robert,

My loving thoughts are with you, the children and Pat at this sad time.

You have lost a wonderful partner and friend and the children such a loving caring mother — we question ourselves why does this happen — of course there is no answer — but, dear Robert, what a wonderful heritage Hazel has left you, Joshua and Zoë: her wonderful enthusiasm for learning and living will be with you all — I shall remember her as wonderful friend and shall often think of the lovely walks and talks we had together at Sorrento.
