Dear Bob,
Harlan and I send you our deepest sympathy. I put your name, along with Joshua and Zoë on a prayer card at church on Sunday. It has been a very long four years. I wish it could have been easier for you all.
Your emails were eloquent. May we all make our final passage as Hazel did — surrounded by love.
We are nearing Hallowe’en once again. The season always reminds me of the year the four of you shared in our annual pumpkin-buying expedition. Hazel brought luscious strawberries for the tailgate picnic and Joshua and Zoë were delighted by the rabbits outside of the fuel-and-tackle store. I do hope you will bring them back to visit often as they continue to grow up.
You remain in our thoughts and our prayers.
Love to you all,
Harlan & Sarah
